Jealousy has HARMFUL side-effects!
Ran across this article posting online and wanted to share. BEWARE of jealousy!
You’ve GOT to check out this book!
I found an amazing book that will help all of you who are over-worked, overwhelmed, running on empty, with little time for yourselves. It’s called “Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul: 7 Keys to Nurture Yourself While Caring for Others” and it’s written by my friend Hueina Su who is an internationally recognized speaker and expert in helping people find the missing peace & balance in their stressful lives.
Our world is fast-paced and loaded with a tremendous volume of competing priorities and responsibilities. The need to center ourselves, catch our breath and release the stress is probably more crucial than ever. How are we to accomplish this when we are faced with the overwhelming need to make a difference in others? Hueina’s book comes at the perfect timing. Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul is a definitely gentle loving breeze with a clear and strong message effortlessly delivered. As I read her ideas, told in a wonderful story-telling style, it was easy to reinforce the truth that has motivated this book: caretakers need to take care of themselves.
If you have ever felt stressed, overwhelmed, no time for you, running on empty, or feeling selfish & guilty about taking time for yourself, then this book is a must read for YOU!! This book will make a PERFECT Mother’s Day gift too!!
A fourth generation medical professional, Hueina was born a nurturer. Raised in a culture where self-sacrifice was not only expected but encouraged, she understood at a very young age that balance would be pivotal in realizing the depth of happiness she really desired for herself.
Through her 20+ years of experience in nursing, counseling, coaching, and being a mom of two, she experienced and observed the demands and stress of being responsible for someone else’s daily care whether it’s caring for a normal family or caring for someone who is ill or disabled. She recognized that care-taking is as rewarding as it is exhausting, but far too often we sacrifice our own well-being and happiness because nobody ever showed us how to manage it all.
The consequences of neglecting your self-care could be detrimental, not only to your physical & emotional health, but also to your work, business bottom lines and your relationships. Chronic stress is linked to all major illnesses including heart attack, stroke, hypertension, diabetes and cancer.
It is time to take action and learn how to take good care of YOU, while you continue to take care of others! This book will show you how. It’s terrific, timely and pertinent to most of our lives — preventing and eliminating stress & burnout!
And, when you buy this book on Amazon.com on APRIL 22, you will receive dozens of bonus gifts from many leading experts, such as Mark Victor Hansen (best-selling author of Chicken Soup for the Soul), Lisa Nichols (teacher in The Secret), Marci Shimoff (teacher in The Secret, and best-selling author of Happy for No Reason), Janet Attwood (The Passion Test), Joe Vitale (The Attractor Factor) and so many more!
With amazing insights into all aspects of what it truly means to be both caretaker and nurturer, Hueina Su presents personal stories, practical tools and tips that are universal in their application and great for professional healthcare workers, therapists, social workers, teachers, family caregivers, moms, and anyone who is caring for others. The need for this information is far more urgent than most could ever realize.
Join Hueina as she explores in depth caretaking concerns such as:
* Recognizing Self-Care Deficiency Syndrome and what to do about it
* How to resolve the feeling of overwhelm
* Finding joy and serenity in the present moment
* How to restore peace and calm when life is spinning out of control
* Creating life balance to avoid caregiver burnout
* How to clear out emotional clutter for lasting inner peace
* Finding peace in the face of death and grieving
* Detached involvement for caregivers

This is more than a book! The self-coaching sessions following every section offer personalized action steps and build a solid foundation for a new understanding and level of caregiving. This is a book you’ll want to keep as a reference and go back to again and again.
While we all know it’s important to take care of ourselves, most of us don’t always practice what we believe to be true. We need help and we need it in a way that is easy for us to use. Just read one small but potent piece to know why you will remember what Hueina tells us.
” Intensive Self-Care is NOT being selfish and it’s
NOT a luxury, but rather an essential practice
for your survival and overall well-being.”
It resonates with our souls. That simple, pure, loving statement brings me a sigh of relief. It is okay to re-prioritize, and for that and more I have gleaned as I read. I know that she has clearly embarked on a path to help us all continue our paths as healers while caring for ourselves — the perfect mixture for a successful life.
This is a must read for anyone who is taking care of others and needs some tender loving care for themselves. Get this amazing book for yourself and anyone you care TODAY. It’s terrific, timely and pertinent to most of our lives — preventing and eliminating stress & burnout! And, remember, Hueina will be there for you when the time comes!
Love and Success,
Sharon

It’s time to MOVE baby!
Achieving Balance in Life
You live in a world of constant change and fast going days. How do you get balance in your life? There is always a time crunch for everyone who wishes that the days had more than twenty-four hours. Does that sound like you? If you are not careful it can make you physically drained, mentally drained and emotionally drained at the end of the day. If you can find balance in your life, it can make life so much easier. The first thing you need to do is to set priorities each day to begin your day. A coach or mentor will tell you to actually create a “to do” list the night before for the next day. List the first three items on the list as a “must do,” item. Make sure you finish those before you move on to the next.
To create more balance in your life means that you have to set short-term goals, intermediate goals and long-term goals and stick to them. You can always revisit your calls occasionally to make changes. However, for the most part, your life should reflect the goals that you set for yourself. In the meantime, don’t pressure yourself or rush yourself. Be patient if things don’t go exactly according to plan. Just redo everything and allow yourself to see change as good.
Here are some ideas for creating more balance for work and family:
- Give yourself space to mess up. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Do what you can for the given day and whatever is left will be done the next day. Do your best always. No one can ask for more. Being a parent is a full time job in itself.
- Don’t feel guilty because of what people think. Do whatever it takes to get the job done, but never lose yourself.
- Get help when you need it. Don’t try to do everything on your own. Delegate any responsibilities that someone else can do.
- Make changes if you have to in order to accommodate new ideas.
- Create a team that you can rely on to pick up the slack.
- Reduce stress. Go for a walk if you have to. This will help to release stress and give you a better start to your day.
- Don’t waste valuable time doing things that are not productive.
- Be positive. Focus on the good and not the bad. When you have a good day, make a mental note of it and allow this day to be your premise for creating better days.
- Spend time alone with yourself. Treat yourself to a spa treatment, massage or just a movie. Don’t overwork yourself.
- Spend time separately with each child if you are a parent and separate time with a spouse or partner. Each person needs his or her own individual time with you to create family balance.
Stay focused and center on who you are and where you are going. Let your time be well spent. Don’t worry about anything that is undone. It will get done. Relax. It is OK to stumble. Be patient with yourself. Everything comes in steps. As long as you are stepping toward something, you sure are going somewhere. Just make sure it is in the path of your goals and aspirations.
4 Ways to Stay Motivated
Where you are today is a direct result of the actions you have
taken in your past. The degree of happiness and success you
enjoy today is the fruits of your past labor. If you are not
where you want to be today – then you need take action – daily
and consistent action to be specific.
The level of success and happiness we all achieve is the direct
result of our consistent actions. Not those actions we take
every now and then. Like those actions we take towards our New
Year’s resolution that usually die out by this time of year. No
our success is in fact the result of our habits (consistent
actions). For those habits are the rudders that steer our
course of success in live. Suffice to say we all need to
develop good habits if we are looking to reach our goal of
success.
Unfortunately for most of us our habits are not a result of
logical decision-making and conscious thought. Generally the
habits we have are the reactions to our experiences (stimuli).
If we have had a heavy dosage of negative experiences, then we
will tend to produce negative reactions. What do you think
you’ll get from those consistent negative reactions? That is
right – bad habits.
A powerful tool at your disposal to help you take control of
your habits is your level of motivation. If you are motivated
and are driven – then your unstoppable desire for success will
outstrip your fear of failure. A motivated person is far more
willing to step outside their comfort zone and take that all-
important life changing chance. They become more, they do more,
and thus they have more.
If you are looking to build your level of motivation here are
some steps that will serve you well.
1 – Set your Goals
Know what you want! Goals give your life purpose. Your desire
to reach these goals will become a great motivator in your life.
Big goals, little goals, personal, professional, financial and
spiritual goals – write them all down. Long term and short term
- write them down in clear and specific terms. Then set to work
on them.
2 – DAILY Action
Once you set your goals. Put in place a plan that requires you
to execute at least on step each day. No matter how small or
how big. A phone call, some reading, a contact, a letter,
whatever just do something everyday. Each of these steps will
bring you closer to your goal – and motivate you to higher
achievements. Remember a habit is nothing more that a repeated
behavior. Taking daily actions will form your successful habit
so strongly that eventually you will be taking action without
conscious thought. It will just be who you are – a successful
and motivated person.
3 – Feel it!
We are not creatures of pure logic – we are emotional creatures.
While our minds will work out the most successful business plan
ever conceived. It is our emotion, our desire, which moves us
to execute the plan. Connect all the good feelings you have to
your action. Every time you succeed, small or large, at one of
your action steps, know and feel that you are now one step
closer to your goal. These repeated connections shall reinforce
your emotional drive to achieve your goals. Another good
technique is to sit down and list all the reasons why you want
to or must reach this goal – all positive reasons. Then do the
flip side, list all the things you will miss out on, be forced
into or dislike about your life, yourself etc. if you do not
achieve your goal. Now your using both of the two primary
emotions you have, desire & fear, to your advantage.
4 – Take Responsibility!
Don’t give yourself an out. Stop blaming your parents, your
childhood, your kids, your wife, the economy, your boss, your
dog, your postman or any other thing/person in your life. It is
in fact YOUR life. Don’t say if I could I would, say I can and
I will. You may have many reasons why, but only you can change
them, so take responsibility. Step up and remember the words of
Oprah Winfrey “My philosophy is that not only are you
responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment
puts you in the best place for the next moment.”
7 Tips for Generating TONS of Confidence
1 Spend time each day with confident people.
Their energy and inner strength is so inspiring that you will find yourself feeling more empowered just by listening to them talk. And you can get tips from them. All you need to do is ask! Even one good idea could point you in a whole new direction you would not have otherwise considered.
2 Find a mentor.
Nearly all successful people have a mentor. You too need someone who has already done what you are working to achieve who is willing to advise you. This person will help you to succeed even more quickly than you can imagine. Remember, two minds are better than one. When you have someone who believes in you and you have a plan you believe in — your confidence will soar.
3 Understand that confidence is only a feeling.
Have you ever felt confident? If you have ever felt confident in any situation then you can feel confident again in the future. How? By re-accessing that confident feeling. This is something that is worth doing every day. Spend 15 minutes a day reliving occasions in your life when you felt confident. Imagine it all in rich detail and pay very close attention to the feelings of confidence. After only a few days, feeling confident will become a good habit.
4 List your reasons to be confident
Becoming aware of why you can be confident will help you get back on track. Make a list of at least 50 reasons why you can be confident today. Include previous successes, your skills and qualities, your support network and your goals. Put down everything that pops into your mind. After you have done this you will have tapped into the power of consistency. You will be under pressure to be consistent with your own logic that stated you can be confident.
5 Make a public declaration
Tell someone whose opinion you value that you will be confident at a particular event. Your desire to impress this person will cause you to do all that you can to be at your very best. And when you demand more of yourself you will be amazed at what you can do. You will start finding solutions to problems that left you stuck and you will seek advice from people who can help you.
6 Preparation makes perfect
Have you ever watched a top sportsperson in action and wondered to yourself at how easy she makes it look? Or listened to your favorite music CD and felt inspired by the talent of the singer? Think. How did these superstars get to the top? Practice, practice and more practice. I read an article about Pavarotti, the opera singer, and he said he practices daily and he still learns something new about his voice each day! When you spend more time honing your skills your confidence will soar because you will know with certainty that you can and will perform when the curtain goes up.
7 Self comparison is key
Compare your progress in life with your previous results. Look to the success of others to learn and not to measure your own success. When you put your focus on the daily improvement of your own skills and abilities you can and will grow very quickly. And your confidence will surge. Confidence without competence is a dangerous combination. Make it easy for yourself and only engage in Self comparison when you are assessing your progress. By doing this you will make it easier to keep at it when the going gets tough and your competence will grow day by day.
